Needs assessment is an important step for discovering deficits in the skills and knowledge of employees. Tools for knowledge assessment are not very common in the working environment and researchers continue to call for methods needed for the adoption of these instruments. Newly developed instruments for knowledge assessment can be applied for knowledge-based discrepancy analysis. In this evaluation study we applied a fully automated instrument (MITOCAR) for needs assessment. We evaluated the results to find out how tools like <span class=\"caps\">MITOCAR<\/span> can be applied in practice.
